About
Dr. Bronner’s is known for its Old World excellence and time-honored simplicity, thanks to the family’s German-Jewish soapmaking legacy. Emanuel Bronner was born in 1908 to a Jewish family that had been making soap since 1858. He was the third generation of his family to be qualified as a master soapmaker under the guild system of the time. In 1929, he took his high-quality liquid and bar soap formulae to America, and in 1948, he founded Dr. Bronner’s in its current form. Dr. Bronner’s creates pure Castile liquid and bar soaps with coconut, olive, hemp, and jojoba oils and natural scents, drawing on 150 years of family soapmaking heritage.
Dr. E.H. Bronner, the man who created the company 70 years ago, is responsible for its attitude of environmental and social responsibility, as well as their unique labelling. With top-quality soaps and a comprehensive dedication to corporate social responsibility, Dr Bronner’s continues a five-generation tradition of natural soapmaking. Their products, activities, and revenues are all aimed towards the planet’s and people’s benefit. They employ organic, fair-trade ingredients acquired from small-scale farms and support water conservation, soil enrichment, waste reduction, and reforestation programmes.
They invest in fair supply chains based on sustainable agriculture and fair compensation for workers, and they’ve set a salary ratio cap of 5:1 to give their employees greater pay and benefits. They support issues ranging from animal welfare to agricultural hemp to consciousness research in order to ensure a more progressive future for all of humanity.
